Spring Cleaning Your Garage
Spring is a wonderful season to enjoy with friends and family outdoors. However, since most of our outdoor and even sporting equipments are most often just dumped unceremoniously into the garage, finding our way through the mess to get to those equipments can truly become frustrating.
So before or at the start of spring before those outing invitations come, start organizing your garage. Start by categorizing everything into groups: tools, sporting equipment, outdoor equipment, car tools, and a throw-away category.
Boxes are never advisable as there is always that tendency to toss things inside, but boxes help categorize things. Having separate corners for equipments that you may possibly use any time and a corner for those equipment which you only need by season is a good way of organizing garages and keeping it that way. That way, when you need to look for something, you know where to find it.
Once cleaning and organizing is done, empty spaces in our garage tempt us to keep those things that we don’t need. But the truth is, most often than not, we do not really remember it unless we see it. And since it is not everyday that we clean our garages, we forget we even have them. When we forget we have them, we don’t necessarily turn and look for them even when we need it. So why not throw them away or hold garage sales? This way, you will have more room for more important tools and equipments that you actually need rather than using the space for storing things which you only think you need.
